Farewell to Molly – a dignified last journey

Molly, a 4-year-old European domestic cat, was presented on 25.06.2025 after a serious accident with a mowing machine. She suffered serious soft tissue injuries to both hind legs. Despite intensive veterinary care – including surgical debridement and modern wound treatment using cold plasma – a stable healing process could not be achieved.
The owners covered the initial care and the first few days of treatment from their own resources – with great commitment and the desire to give Molly every chance of recovery. The intensive medical care provided by the team of vets at the small animal practice in Wetzikon deserves special recognition. With great expertise, commitment and empathy, they did everything humanly possible to provide Molly with the best possible care and alleviate her suffering.
From July 3, 2025, our foundation was able to make a targeted financial contribution to enable the continuation of medical care. This made further care possible in the first place, and Molly was able to receive the best possible treatment for several weeks.
After careful medical assessment and in close consultation with everyone involved, the owners finally made the decision with a heavy heart to let Molly go with dignity on July 24, 2025. She was lovingly cared for until the end.
We would like to express our sincere sympathy to the owners. Saying goodbye to an animal that was part of the family is profound and painful – all the more so when you have hoped and fought together. Molly was allowed to experience love, care and security – in both good and difficult times.
As a foundation, we would like to thank the owners for their trust and for their responsible and loving treatment of Molly. We would also like to thank the team of vets who treated her for their trusting cooperation and their great commitment. We wish everyone involved much strength and comfort during this difficult time.
